Our relationships serve as our sanctuary and refuge in life. However, it’s unrealistic to keep our outside life separate from our relationships. Furthermore, leading a life without anyone to witness it can be a lonely experience. While discussing our daily experiences with our partner is acceptable, have you ever questioned why we feel the need to solve each other’s problems? This is often a result of feeling distressed. Most individuals can only tolerate 10 to 15 minutes of listening to someone vent before their emotions are affected and they feel compelled to find a solution. Unfortunately, this can result in conflicts and arguments. It’s crucial to recognize that this is a sign that we need to transition and shift our focus. Doing so can assist the other person in moving from their workday to their relationship. If we solely talk about work after a long day at work, we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to unwind and relax. By transitioning, we create space and time to decompress and de-escalate.
Coffee Note: Did you know that coffee beans are actually seeds? They are found in the cherry-like berries of flowering shrubs, and we refer to them as “beans” due to their similarity to legumes.
